Support for schools with Climate Action Plans
The Gressenhall Environment Hub can help your school with the development and delivery of your Climate Action Plan (CAP). We offer activities that will help you address three of the four key areas your CAP covers: adaptation/resilience, biodiversity and climate education.
Consultation
If you're interested in finding out more, please drop us an email at [email protected] to book in an initial consultation and identify environmental improvement opportunities for your grounds. This consultation is free and you don't need to commit to booking a session to attend.
Grounds Development
Our sessions are built to support the History and Science curriculums, making it easier for you to bring your CAP into the classroom. The session will provide your class with the knowledge and skills to create and manage their own wildlife habitat. Previous projects have included making meadows for insects and birds, and planting fruit orchards for pollinators and shade creation.
More about our activities
We offer three themes based on the landscape of Norfolk:
- Heritage Orchards (offered from January to March)
- Hay Meadows (offered during September, March and April)
- Trees and Woodlands (offered during October and November)
In each session your class will explore the history and ecology of their chosen habitat before going out into the school grounds and getting started on creating their own project.
All workshops include a free follow-up session to check in on your habitat and carry out initial maintenance. Where needed we are happy to give advice over email.
£60 for the day (1 - 2 workshops). Each workshop lasts approximately 2 hours and can cater for a maximum of 30 pupils.
